This paper develops the evolution of the right to decent housing and its combination with the supervening right to habitat and the city. In addition, it reviews the constitutional and conventional reception that Argentine law has undergone from the first half of the twentieth century to the present. It also proposes to think about the role of the State in the development of efficient public policies aimed at guaranteeing the materialization of these rights.
