Abstract

This article examines the process of selecting judges in the Republic of Argentina, characterized by a notable institutional diversity derived from federalism. It focuses specifically on the stage in which the Councils of the Judiciary intervene—a total of twenty-five, distributed across the different jurisdictions of the country—each with its own regulations and specific procedures, which motivates this comparative analysis. In the face of such heterogeneity, the aim is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the different systems and to highlight the fundamental elements needed to ensure equitable access to justice and a legitimate judicial administration.
