Abstract

The 1994 reform reaffirmed the need to implement the figure of the jury trial. In this article, we will explore the evolution of the jury trial in Argentina, from its origins to the present, analyzing the most significant milestones and the implications of its implementation in the country’s legal and social context.

    Penal y Procesal Penal (Facultad de Derecho, UBA). Miembro de la Junta Directiva Nacional del Instituto de Estudios
    Comparados en Ciencias Penales y Sociales. Exvicepresidente de la Asociación Argentina de Juicio por Jurados. Autor
    de siete libros y numerosos artículos de derecho penal, procesal penal y ejecución penal publicados en Argentina y el
    extranjero. Consultor experto en varios procesos de reforma de los sistemas de justicia en América Latina, el Caribe y
    Argentina. Actualmente se desempeña como defensor general del Departamento Judicial de San Martín.
