Abstract

This paper aims to briefly present the objectives and mission of the Institute of Popular Culture and National Thought at the National University of the West. Among its priority research areas, the focus on Human Rights—Memory, Truth, and Justice—stands out prominently. In this context, promoting the awarding of the Doctorate Honoris Causa to Estela de Carlotto marked a milestone. Due to the symbolic significance of both her figure and the Association she leads, this recognition stands as the highest expression of the defense of human rights within the framework of, now more than ever, the redefinition of the democratic system
